Our Story

Mitchell's Farm and Market was founded in 2020 by first-generation farmers Brian and Angie Mitchell. Brian, a 27-year Combat veteran and truck driver, was tired of all the traveling and wanted to support his wife's vision. So they bought a piece of land in Shepherdsville, KY and he went to work first building garden beds then a greenhouse. Nearly 5 years later, he has added to that garden area, built a chicken coop and enclosure, and will soon be adding more. 

Angie Mitchell wanted to know where the food she put on her family's table came from.  She found a passion in this and discovered that she wanted to be able to provide quality foods to her local community at affordable prices. This passion became even more important when Brian was diagnosed with Alpha-Gal.

The farm produces a wide variety of fresh vegatables, fruits, herbs and flowers. In addition it hatches and sells chickens and guinea fowl, raises hens for egg production and manages bees for honey.
